First Camping Trip in Our New Pop-Up Camper

Well, we are excited to announce we have finally been camping in our new pop-up camper. We had a great time. We went to Wilson State Park in Harrison, MI. We stayed two nights. During the day on Saturday it rained for about a half an hour. The good news...there was enough room for everyone to be comfortable in the camper while we waited for the rain to stop. Plus the camper does not leak!

Evelyn ventured into the water more than she has in previous summers. She is getting brave and appears to find her version of "swimming" fun. We had a camp fire both nights, complete with S'mores. Yum!

We are kind of going camping again this weekend. We have friends with a family cabin on a lake, yet the cabin only has two rooms. We are bringing our camper to ensure we have a good place to sleep.

Here are some pictures of our camping trip!

Camping in our new pop-up camper!

Recently we obtained a previously-owned Viking pop-up camper. Exciting! The camper is in great shape, is only 10 years old and was not used for the last 4 years of its life. We've had the camper for 3 or so weeks now, but it doesn't really feel like we actually own a pop-up camper since we haven't used it yet!

This may be the weekend we actually get to use it. Our family is planning a camping trip with my brother and his two daughters. We have checked the weather for the area and it calls for sun and mid 70's during the days, which sounds nice, but also states a 40% chance of scattered showers. We are hoping the showers are scattered outside our area!

I plan to take some pictures of Evelyn and our new camper. I will try to post the pictures when we return.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! Love, Evelyn

Daddy,

I really wanted to type this myself, but I needed mommy's help. Yes, Yes...I know I am already good at using the laptop computer, but that is just for playing Sesame Street or PBSKids games on-line, not wordprocessing!

Today is father's day, but I like to call it Happy Daddy's Day since I don't call you father.

I hope you liked the card I made while at Grandma and Grandpa Wright's the other day. The one with the stamps on it in the shapes of hearts, stars and lips.

I hope you liked the card that I helped Mommy pick out at the store. The one that asked you how I was doing on my task of bringing sunshine and happiness into your life!

You are a great daddy and I am so glad you are mine. I am already looking forward to celebrating next Daddy's Day with you too.

Love always, Evelyn

Love to my dad, Evelyn's Grandpa Bill

Just a just note to tell everyone how wonderful I think my father is, Evelyn's Grandpa Bill.

My father is great. Here is why:

He can fix anything that is broken.
He has funny stories to tell.
He loves everyone in his life, without conditions or reserve.
He works really hard at everything he does.
He likes my husband.
He loves my daughter.

Happy Father's Day Dad! --Love always, Linda

Not so lucky!

Well, after my last post on Monday June 9th, I am finally back and I have to say...I have not been so lucky.

In my last post I told of Evelyn's gastro-intestinal concerns and was happy I had not contracted them too. Well, my luck changed as of 4am that night. I woke with a churning belly and knew I was in for it. Well, 3 days later and I think I am finally better. I missed two and a half work days and took lots of naps! Thanks to Andy, he kept the business and the family running while I was under the weather. Evelyn is feeling much better and tried to make mommy better by pulling out her physician's kit. She gave me a couple of play shots, looked in my ears (I guess she really is like me!) and placed a fake bandage on my arm. I do have to say I felt better after this check-up, especially when she climbed under the covers with me, rolled over, and told me "I love you Mommy!". That made my heart feel wonderful, even though my belly felt terrible!

Not sure what caused our discomfort and now my only hope is that Andy doesn't get it too! Wish him better luck than I had!

Go State!!

Finally, another post!

Some may ask...how could I go so long without a new post? The easy answer is, I am the mother of a 3 year old! The real answer (besides the easy answer) is I am just not sure about blogs. I love to read blogs by others, but wonder who will read my blog about Evelyn? Hopefully many will, especially those in Evelyn's life that do not get to see her on a regular basis!

Evelyn has been sick lately. An intestional problem has been running through our family. It started with Evelyn's Grandma Jackie, who watches her almost daily. Then it grabbed Evelyn and appears to not want to let go. Evelyn developed the issue last Wednesday the 4th and now it is the 9th and she is still having problems. Grandpa Bill has it too, but is recovering faster. So far Andy and I are in the clear as far as intestional problems go, but I do have the common cold.

I think my cold is a "gift" from the school kids I see. The school year is over for some and will be over soon for others, so I wonder if they decided to give me one last cold to remember them by over the long summer! That being said...school is almost over! This means Andy and I will be taking Friday's off for the summer, like we have done every year since Evelyn was born. We really like having that one extra day each week to spend with her, take her more places, etc...

I will try to post some pictures soon! Stay tuned (and if you are reading this, I guess I decided to let people know my blog is out there for the viewing!)
